Boxing is the sport of gladiators. It is the sport of
Frazier, Ali, Ray Leanord, Hagler, De La Hoya, Jones
Jr, Hearns and Duran. Boxing is the art of combat
using the fist inside a square ring.
Boxing is hand to hand combat in a very controlled environment. Contestants are separated by weight (not height) and then pitted against each other in 3 minute rounds lasting approximately 12 rounds. (It used to be 15 rounds, but that was considered to be too dangerous for fighters). Boxers use a combination of jabs, hooks and uppercuts. There are right hand fighters and left hand fighters (south paws).
My Favorite Current Fighters:
Roy Jones Jr. - He is currently the best and most talented
Ike Quartey - I love his jabs. With the right training, I think he could be very good.
Bernard Hopkins - He's good and he's really old. What an athlete!
Prince Naseem Hamed - Charismatic, funny and a unique fighter
Shane Mosely - Conventionally good
Oscar De La Hoya - Conventially good
